She spent her childhood years growing up in Puerto Rico.
In 1989, she started off her career pursuits as a resident DJ at Krash Klub Kafe, one of the most prestigious clubs in the Caribbean.
Nina Flowers’ career in drag began in March 1993.
She emerged as the winner of the Miss Puerto Rico Continental as well as Miss City Lights Continental pageants in 1999.
Her fellow contestants on the first installment of the reality competition television series, RuPaul’s Drag Race, included BeBe Zahara Benet, , Rebecca Glasscock, Victoria “Porkchop” Parker, and Tammie Brown.
Nina Flowers has been cast in music videos for songs like Cover Girl and Responsitrannity by RuPaul, Backstabber by Fior, and I Look Fuckin Cool by ft. Alaska Thunderfuck.
May 29 was proclaimed as “Nina Flowers Day” on May 29, 2009, by John Hickenlooper, the 43rd mayor of Denver, in order to recognize her contributions to the city’s LGBT community.
