Redman was born in 1970 on April 17 to Eddie and Darlene Noble as Reginald Noble. His birthplace was Newark, New Jersey. He has a sister and a cousin named Rosalyn and Tame One, respectively. They are rappers as well.
Redman was expelled from Montclair State University in 1987. That was as a result of his poor grades. He was only a freshman aged 16.
