Born in Greenville, Texas, 40 Glocc had moved to California with his mother when he was 10 years old. After shuttling between various towns and cities in the state, the family had settled down in the city of Colton.
In 1996, he had been arrested after a shootout in Colton and was charged with the attempted murder of a police officer.
In 1997, he and his friends had formed a musical group called Zoo Crew. A few months later, they had recorded their first album together titled Migrate, Adapt, or Die.
His big break in the music industry came when he had negotiated a deal with the record label Empire Musicwerks, with distribution by BMG. It was through this deal that he had released his first studio album titled The Jakal (2003). However, soon after the release of this album, he had decided to part ways with Empire Musicwerks.
In October 2010, a judge had ruled that 40 Glocc, a gang member with the Colton City Crips, would be included in an injunction that forbade the gang’s members from congregating near their alleged headquarters.
He was arrested in January 2011 after a loaded 9mm handgun was found in his car. The charges against him were ultimately dropped due to a lack of evidence.
In October 2011, he had been arrested in Las Vegas and charged with 3 counts of domestic battery. He had been charged with hitting his alleged girlfriend several times and choking her. The woman had claimed that he had been assaulting her for over a year.
In July 2012, 40 Glocc had been assaulted by rapper just outside of a mansion in Hollywood. He had then sued Jayceon for USD 4.5 million in damages for assault and battery.
In February 2017, he and 3 others had been arrested on account of their alleged involvement in a pr*stitution ring. It was reported that he had driven a woman to an undisclosed location and had asked her to perform s*xual acts on someone that she had met on Backpage.com. He was detained after the unidentified female had been arrested by an undercover cop who had contacted them for her services. 40 Glocc was charged with 2 counts of intentionally promoting the pr*stitution of an individual and 1 count of inducing an individual to practice pr*stitution. He had later accepted a plea deal for 1 felony count.
