- She was born and raised in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh.
- Ananya rose to fame with her appearance as Deepa Pandey in Chandni Bar in 2001. Her film and television credits also include Pagglait, Sab Kushal Mangal, The Film, Devdas, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, and Lakshmi Ghar Aayi.
- Ananya made her debut TV show appearance in Hum Log in 1984. In 1994, she was cast in her first feature film Zaalim as Kaamna.
