She is the youngest of 3 siblings.
She earned several accolades such as the Naismith Trophy and was also named as part of the consensus All-American first team. Aside from that, she was also presented with the title of “national player of the year” by Gatorade, USA Today, and McDonald’s.
Katie played for the United States under-17 team who won the 2013 FIBA Americas U-16 Championship and the 2014 FIBA U-17 World Championship.
She once stated in an interview that she models her game after legendary basketball player Larry Bird.
Initially, she had started her professional career with Chicago Sky after being drafted at 4th overall during the 2019 WNBA Draft. However, in February 2026, she was traded with then Dallas Wings basketball player Azurá Breeona Stevens.
